reviewed what if...? s1e3 talked about the darker tone of ep 3 and 4 and how they differed from the first two episodes.  Disney willing to make darker content makes us hopeful for future endeavors and their desire to cater to adults with some of their content.  Mentioned background of series potentially telling a bigger narrative.

 

Dragon Con

Potentially limiting access or decreasing access to parts of the venue based on covid restrictions.  Some events, vendors, and attendees pulling out of the event or limiting participation to avoid spreading covid.

 

HorrorFest in Aurora

Seems to be fully open to attendees but unsure of amount of participants.  Some other conventions being impacted in the near future still but restrictions being different at different venues may impact success and attendance.

 

Candyman review

The story follows major parts of the first movie involving racial impropriety and division in lower class neighborhoods.  Partially a sequel to the original but also somewhat of a reboot while still connecting large aspects of narrative and storyline to the original.  Good movie overall and worth seeing per Smurf rec.

 

Free Guy review

Follows Ryan Reynolds formula of absurdism, attractiveness, and semi raunchy humor.  Shares many similarities in storytelling with once upon a Deadpool by limiting raunchiness but not going full pg.  Many Easter eggs and cameos from other aspects of entertainment such as gaming culture and history.  Funny enough to watch once per Stash rec.

 

Wheel of Time discussion

Stash gives us a breakdown of Wheel of Time series of books and how the may be impacting when transitioned into tv storytelling.  Teaser trailer being released on 9/2/21, which we are hotly anticipating so we can garner any information about the direction and translation from book to tv.  Dovetailed into discussion about fantasy genre gap and what is coming down the pipeline in the near future and the deluge we may face soon.
